Michele Phoenix Book Talk - Monday, April 24
Michele Phoenix speaker and author will be giving a talk based on her newest novel Of Stillness and Storm. This well written novel follows the journey of a young missionary couple to Nepal and the incredible challenges they face.
It took Lauren and her husband ten years to achieve their dream---reaching primitive tribes in remote regions of Nepal. But while Sam treks into the Himalayas for weeks at a time, finding passion and purpose in his work among the needy, Lauren and their son Ryan stay behind, their daily reality more taxing than inspiring. For them, what started as a calling begins to feel like the family's undoing.
Paul Kroeker - In the Way of Jesus Book launch - Tuesday, April 25
Paul Kroeker of Winnipeg will be talking about his book and reading from it. In the Way of Jesus takes readers on a journey of renewed hope found in the person of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit. Through personal anecdotes and biblical insights, Kroeker lays out the path of discipleship that leads to an intimate relationship with Jesus: “When someone has been with Jesus, their love becomes authentic and compelling. They eagerly share what Jesus has done for them. Their joy is infectious. They are an open book—evidence of God’s love and forgiveness. Their love for one another becomes extraordinary and reveals the good news of the Kingdom of God. Brand image and reality are one and the same. This alone will lead to the awakening of the church in the West, allowing for a new tide of God’s redeeming love to move across our nation and heal our land.”
Discussion questions at the end of each chapter.
Event starts at 7pm

Dr Bones Blues Project - Saturday, June 3
'Doctor Bones' is Victoria’s own gospel-inspired blues fusion band. John and Gail Bones formed the band in 2007 and soon found its niche playing encouraging, blues-based music to Victoria’s homeless and marginalized. This initial work (and the band) has evolved and now its jazz, rock and funk-infused blues also encourages and entertains at Vancouver Island and Lower Mainland fairs, festivals, summer markets, fundraisers, prisons, music clubs and bars.
Join us for the annual blues celebration with this fun, high energy band. We're gonna have a blast. Bring your friends. " I promise a good time." Lando Klassen, Owner.
7pm- $10.00 at the door.
