Kristine's poetic lyrics and intriguing melodies speak at times with reverberating candid intent and in the same theme convey a dreamlike surreal
feeling. Her melodies have distinct rhythmic hooks creating a unique persona while her musicians incorporate elements of ambient-groove and pop jazz.
Defining her sound as "unconventional pop", her vocals have been compared to Morcheeba with a writing style resembling Eddie Brickle.

Her inspiration has been fed from a variety of sources. Spending three years working with abused and underprivileged youth in correctional facilities and group homes, as well as her travels throughout Peru, have inspired her to write "Sundown" and "Autumn Whispers."
Her songs reflect a determined attitude to not give up on life's stabs, to not ignore social injustices, and to trust God throughout it all.

In January her song "Sundown" placed 6th in the Mix 99.9 2003 Songwriting contest. Sundown also placed in the top 20 semi-finalists out of 1000 female entrants in a Canada wide 2002 Pantene Pro-Voice Song-writing Competition.
