Hope Is Born Again

One of Canada’s most exciting up-and-coming worship rock bands, Hamilton-based Elias is known for its passionate and hope-filled lyrics supported by a uniquely melodic and energetic musical canvas.

The band is comprised of Elias Dummer (vocals, piano, guitar), Matt Vincent (guitar), Aaron Powell (lead guitar), Sasha Vukelich (drums), Eric Fusilier (bass), and Aaron Bruce (keyboards).

Frontman Elias Dummer played an instrumental role in helping to start Crossculture, an event for College and High School students that aims to equip students to live out the important connection between worship and social justice, which is a theme that carries throughout their debut album, Hope Is Born Again.

Elias shares, “We really believe that God wants all of us to be a part of His story: to restore things to the way they ought to be, to really trust that He’s making things all right. We have to discover our part in that infectious and hope-filled story. That’s what Hope Is Born Again is about. These are songs written as responses to seeing what God does when we’re willing to get our hands dirty and learn what it means to really love our neighbour. Despite the brokenness we see around us there’s this beautiful, grassroots thing growing up in spite of it – and it's bursting at the seams with grace and beauty, hope and love. It’s going to turn the world upside-down. It has to. That’s who Jesus is.”
